Description
Located in the Karaisali district of Adana province in the Mediterranean Region, Eglence I-II is a run-off-river hydroelectric power plant that generates clean energy by utilizing the Eglence River. The project is comprised of two weirs and two powerhouses that have a combined installed capacity of 68.65 MWe. The upstream units are called "Eglence-I" whereas the downstream units are named "Eglence-II". Collectively, they are referred to as "Eglence I-II". Key Highlights: - Eglence I has an installed capacity of 42.65 MWe and generates approximately 127,280 MWh of clean energy per annum - Eglence II has an installed capacity of 26.00 MWe and generates approximately 78,019 MWh of clean energy per annum - The project has an estimated net electricity production of 205,299 MWh/year - The proposed project is estimated to reduce CO2e emissions by 114,065 tonnes annually This project is important because it generates clean energy and reduces the amount of CO2e emissions. It contributes to the global effort to combat climate change and promotes sustainable development in the region. Additionally, the use of hydroelectric power is a renewable and reliable source of energy that can provide power to thousands of homes and businesses.
