Description
The proposed project activity aims to promote the implementation and installation of grid-connected renewable energy power plants in India. By diversifying the grid generation mix, this project ensures energy security and sustainable growth of the electricity generation sector in the country. The successful implementation of renewable energy projects is the primary objective of this project, with revenue from the sale of Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) being the key driver behind it. Key Highlights: - The project aims to support the development of new grid-connected renewable energy power plants in India, specifically those using solar energy technologies. - The project is a voluntary action with each SPV being the coordinating/Managing Entity (CME) or Project Proponent for all project activity Instances. - The implementation of renewable energy technologies currently faces various technological, institutional, and financial barriers, which this project seeks to overcome. - The project enables investment in large and small grid-connected plants that export their generated output to the regional/national electricity grid in India. - The project supports the country's transition to a low-carbon economy, promoting sustainable development and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. India has no mandatory laws or regulations that require the development of renewable generation plants, making this project a crucial step towards achieving the country's renewable energy goals. As a parent company, ACME Group has formed Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) for solar projects, and the projects are developed under the name of these SPVs. This project activity is a voluntary action that seeks to overcome the challenges faced by renewable energy technologies and promote sustainable development in India. By enabling investment in renewable energy power plants, this project supports the country's transition to a low-carbon economy and helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
