Shahapur-D9 Project: The Shahapur-D9 Project is a mini hydel scheme located on distributary-9 of the Shahapur Branch canal (SBC) in Gulbarga District, Karnataka. The canal is a significant 36 km long and the project is situated near Banathal village. The project utilizes seven drops and a chute structure to generate a gross head of 21m and produce 1 MW of electricity with a single installed unit of capacity 1000 kW. Key Highlights: - Utilizes water from distributary-9 of the Shahapur Branch canal - Generates 1 MW of electricity - Uses a gross head of 21m Mandagere Project: The Mandagere Project is located downstream of the Mandagere anicut, near Mandagere Village in Mandya District, Karnataka. The project utilizes the regulated releases from the Gorur dam in Hemavathi river and a gross head of 8m to generate electricity. Two units of each 1750 kW are used for power generation.
