Description
Yihai Kerry (Panjin) Bio-cogeneration Co., Ltd. is the proud owner and operator of a green-field rice husk based thermal energy generation system. This innovative project produces both steam and electricity, with plans for potential expansion in the future. The project is a subsidiary of Wilmar International Ltd., a well-known leader in sustainable solutions. Key Highlights: - The project utilizes rice husks, a waste product from the rice industry, as the primary source of fuel. - Two boilers with a capacity of 15 MT/hour each and one steam turbine with a capacity of 6 MW generate thermal energy and electricity. - The proponent purchases rice husks from ‘Yihai Kerry (Panjin) Oils and Grains Industries Co., Ltd’ and surrounding areas, and provides no other co-firing options. This project is vital in promoting sustainable energy solutions in China, a country that is heavily reliant on fossil fuels. The use of rice husks as fuel, a waste product that would otherwise be discarded, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and promotes the circular economy. The project not only generates electricity for local consumption but also provides a sustainable solution for waste management in the rice industry.
