Description

The paper manufacturing industry generates a large amount of waste liquor during the pulping stage. This project recovers caustic soda from that waste liquor, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by using less electricity than the production of fresh soda. Key Highlights: - Recovery of caustic soda from waste liquor generated during paper manufacturing - Less electricity consumption for recovery than for production of fresh soda - Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions - Electricity for project generated in-house from biomass-based power project This project is important because it reduces greenhouse gas emissions by recovering caustic soda from waste liquor generated during the paper manufacturing process. Additionally, the project uses less electricity than producing fresh soda, and the electricity used is generated in-house from a sustainable biomass-based power project.
