Description

In southern India, a wind power project has been implemented which generates electricity through the use of 136 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) across five districts; Tirunelveli, Dindigul, and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, and Hassan and Chitradurga in Karnataka. Key Highlights: - The project has a capacity of 159.75 MW - 324 GWh of electricity is generated annually - This clean energy source replaces power from traditional sources, such as TNEB, BESCOM and CESC. Wind energy is considered carbon neutral, as it does not produce greenhouse gas emissions. By generating electricity through renewable means, this project helps to reduce the carbon footprint of the region and contributes to a more sustainable future.
