Description
The Henan Xinxiang 24MW Biomass based Cogeneration Project, implemented by Xinxiang Tianjie Bio-Power Generation Co., Ltd., is a renewable energy project located in Huixian County of Xinxiang City, Henan Province, China. The project involves the installation of 2*12MW cogeneration plants that generate electricity with 126,709 MWh/yr supplied into Central China Power Grid, and the generation of heat with 909,200GJ/yr. The project utilizes biomass residues to cogenerate power and heat, avoiding the dumping of biomass residues and reducing CH4 emissions. Key Highlights: - Installation of 2*12MW cogeneration plants based on biomass residues - Generates 126,709 MWh/yr of electricity supplied into Central China Power Grid - Generates 909,200GJ/yr of heat - Utilizes biomass residues for cogeneration of power and heat - Estimated to achieve 123,858 tCO2e emission reductions annually This project is important because it reduces greenhouse gas emissions by displacing the equivalent electricity generated by CCPG with biomass residues fired cogeneration plant that has lower CO2 emissions. The utilization of biomass residues for cogeneration of power and heat also helps reduce CH4 emissions from the dumping of biomass residues. Additionally, the project contributes to the promotion of renewable energy in China, supporting the country's efforts to transition to a low-carbon economy.
