Description

Through improved forestry management practices, the Beijing Shengdahuitong Carbon Management Co., Ltd. owns the carbon credit rights to a project that converts logged areas into protected forests. This project spans over 7,746.7 hectares of land, which includes various state-owned forests that have the legal right to forest ownership. The conversion started on January 1, 2006, and since then, the forestry has been protected as non-commercial forest, which reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions as anthropogenic GHG removals by sinks for approximately 2,877,745 tCO2e over 30 years. Key Highlights: - 7,746.7 hectares of logged areas were converted into protected forests through improved forestry management practices - The project includes state-owned forests with legal rights to forest ownership - Forestry has been protected as non-commercial forests since January 1, 2006, reducing GHG emissions as anthropogenic GHG removals by sinks - A total of approximately 2,877,745 tCO2e will be reduced over 30 years This project is essential in the fight against climate change. By converting logged areas into protected forests, the emission of GHGs is reduced, and the carbon sequestration process is enhanced. The state-owned forests involved in the project provide essential habitat to various wildlife species, and the protection of these forests ensures their preservation. Furthermore, the conversion of these areas into protected forests promotes the growth of new trees, which not only reduces GHG emissions but also provides a sustainable source of wood for the future.
