Description
Toros Regulator and Hydro Power Plant (HPP) is a renewable energy project built on the Çakıt Stream, located in Pozantı Town, Adana Province. The aim of this project is to produce electricity by utilizing the potential energy of the Çakıt Stream, without causing any airborne pollutants or Green House Gas (GHG) emissions. Key Highlights: - The construction and operation of Toros Regulator and HPP will help to reduce the need for conventional thermal power plants in the Turkish National Electricity Grid. - The Toros HPP has an established capacity of 49 MW and is expected to produce 239,400.00 MWh of electricity per year. - This project is expected to reduce GHG emissions by 126,911 tonnes of CO2e per year, based on Turkey’s Combined Margin Emission Factor of 0.53012 CO2e tonnes/MWh. This project is important because it provides a renewable energy source, which helps reduce Turkey's dependence on conventional thermal power plants. The Toros Regulator and HPP project will also significantly reduce GHG emissions, contributing to the global fight against climate change. Additionally, the project has the potential to stimulate the local economy by creating job opportunities and promoting sustainable development.
