Description

With this project, a 216 MWac (corresponding 261 MWp) solar power system will be installed in Tamil Nadu, India. This will replace approximately 346,117 tCO2e per year of anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases. Additionally, it will displace 3,58,559 MWh/year of electricity from fossil fuel-based power plants that are currently connected to the Indian electricity grid. Key Highlights: - Installation of a 216 MWac (corresponding 261 MWp) solar power system in Tamil Nadu, India - Replacement of approximately 346,117 tCO2e per year of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions - Displacement of 3,58,559 MWh/year of electricity from fossil fuel-based power plants connected to the Indian electricity grid The estimated greenhouse gas emission reductions for the renewable crediting period of 10 years will be 34,61,169 tonnes of CO2. This project was open for public comment from 31 May - 30 June 2018, and no comments were received. This project is important because it will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote the adoption of renewable energy in India, a country with a growing demand for electricity. The installation of a 216 MWac (corresponding 261 MWp) solar power system will help reduce the dependence on fossil fuels and contribute to sustainable development in the region. Additionally, this project demonstrates the feasibility of large-scale solar energy projects and sets an example for other countries to follow.
