Description
The Dayingjiang-3 Hydropower Project Phases 1&2 is a renewable energy project with a total installed capacity of 200 MW. The project is located in Yingjiang County, Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan Province, P.R. China, and aims to generate electricity by utilizing the water resources of the Daying River. Key Highlights: - The project consists of four 50 MW hydro generation units, which generate electricity by utilizing the water resources of the Daying River. - The electricity generated by the project is sold to the Dehong Power Grid and then fed to Yunnan Power Grid, a part of the China Southern Power Grid (CSPG). - The project activity reduces GHG emissions by avoiding CO2 emissions that would have been generated by grid-connected fossil fuel-fired power plants. - The annual average estimated emission reductions over the first crediting period are 569,379 tonnes of CO2e. - The project contributes to sustainable development in the region and promotes the use of renewable energy sources. By avoiding CO2 emissions, the Dayingjiang-3 Hydropower Project Phases 1&2 achieves obvious GHG emission reductions. This project is a crucial step towards sustainable development in the region and contributes to the global effort to combat climate change. The project's use of renewable energy sources demonstrates the viability and importance of renewable energy in addressing the world's energy needs while protecting the environment.
