Description

Generating Renewable Electricity from Water Resources in Turkey Located at Golyaka Town, Duuzce Province, Turkey, the proposed project activity aims to generate renewable electricity that will be delivered to the Turkish National Power Grid by utilizing water resources. The Duzce Aksu Hydro Electric Power Plant (HEPP) has a total installed capacity of 46.2 MW and it produces electricity without causing airborne pollutants or Green House Gas (GHG) emissions. Key Highlights: - The Duzce Aksu HEPP generates renewable electricity from water resources without emitting GHG emissions. - The project activity is located at the Golyaka Town, Duuzce Province, Turkey. - The total installed capacity of the project is 46.2 MW. - The construction and operation of the Duzce Aksu HEPP will delay the addition of conventional thermal power plants to the Turkish National Electricity Grid. Reducing the addition of conventional thermal power plants to the Turkish National Electricity Grid is critical in minimizing GHG emissions, and the Duzce Aksu HEPP contributes to achieving this goal. By generating renewable electricity from water resources, the project activity offers a sustainable and eco-friendly solution to electricity production in Turkey. The HEPP is a significant addition to the country's efforts in promoting renewable energy and reducing GHG emissions.
