Description

At Fuzhou Hongmiaoling Landfill, a landfill gas (LFG) utilization project is taking place to generate electricity. The LFG collected from the landfill is being burned to create electricity that is then supplied to East China Power Grid (ECPG). The project aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by displacing the electricity generated by fossil fuel-based power plants and using the LFG released into the atmosphere in the absence of the project activity. Key Highlights: - The project generates electricity by utilizing landfill gas, reducing the need for fossil fuel-based power plants. - The electricity generated is supplied to East China Power Grid, making it more sustainable. - The project reduces GHG emissions by utilizing landfill gas that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere. This project is important because it reduces GHG emissions by utilizing landfill gas, which is a significant contributor to climate change. Additionally, it promotes sustainable energy practices by generating electricity from a renewable source.
